Adding to the mix of venues and restaurants in the neighborhood, a new (gorgeous) space combining space focused on food has opened in Williamsburg. The Rising Tide is a new culinary and events loft that was built over the summer and is now open to the public. This is the same space that will soon be seen on IFC's Dinner with the Band (starring chef Sam Mason). "The Rising Tide is a unique production and events studio, located in a two story loft in Brooklyn." Measuring in at twelve-hundred square feet, if you aren't looking to film a show (because, you probably aren't), it can even host dinner parties for up to forty people.

Broken Angel Goes to Court Tomorrow
Christopher Wood, son of Broken Angel owners/creators Arthur and Cindy Wood, updates what is happening with the 4 Downing Street building in Brooklyn. As the Woods are working with Jordan Parnass Digital Architecture to bring the building to code, there is still a court hearing tomorrow to see if the Department of Buildings has been justified in its actions (the DOB has threatened demolition and removed the Woods from the house).
CRASH THE CYMBALS
The Weather Service's forecast discussion is in rare form today, and that's a good thing. Usually the discussions are dry, technical dissections of the reasoning behind the forecast. The 4:00 a.m. discussion starts with "RATHER DREARY DAY ON TAP FOR THE TRI-STATE REGION" to describe the warm front to our south that is bringing us the clouds and rain. Not too much rain as "OVER OUR NECK OF THE WOODS...DRIER AIR IN THE MID LEVELS HAS WORKED IN", meaning the precipitation will mainly be drizzle. However, today the "DAYSHIFT SHOULD WATCH TRENDS TO SEE HOW THINGS PROGRESS WITH THIS AREA OF SHOWERS AND TSTMS". The rain should diminish through the day tomorrow and it should be in the 50s.
