The Giants won the NFC Championship in overtime, beating the Green Bay Packers 23-20 in overtime and overcome the frigid, below-zero conditions. They are now headed to the Super Bowl where they will meet the New England Patriots, who beat the San Diego Chargers 21-12. more ›

The Giants are heading south to play Atlanta this evening and the Falcons won't have their star quarterback, after Michael Vick was caught running a dogfighting ring out of his Virginia home. It turns out that New York City might be the nation's dogfighting capital though. The New York Post reported yesterday that Bronx resident Ralph Reyes runs an unlicensed kennel out of the basement of a residential walk-up building on Valentine Ave. That's where he allegedly breeds and supplies American Pit Bull Terriers for fights to the death. more ›

With their third championship in four years, pundits are tossing around terms like "dynasty," "best coach in NFL history," "first ballot hall of famer" around, but we digress. If Bill Belichick had his offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator returning, it's possible that the Pats would be a virtual shoe-in for their fourth win in five years. But with Belichick's mastery of the salary cap and stellar personnel decisions, it's possible he will be in Super Bowl XL as well. more ›

The Super Bowl are already has venues through 2008 (stadium names subject to change, obviously) - Jacksonville's Alltel Stadium is slated to host in 2005, followed by Detroit's Ford Field in 2006, Miami's Pro Player Stadium in 2007 and Arizona's still unnamed stadium. The Jets stadium, assuming it gets built, is tentatively scheduled to be finished for the 2009 season. Because of the unique situation in New York (read 2012 Olympics), the NFL is considering waiving the 2-year waiting period for stadiums before they can host the Super Bowl, which would give New York Super Bowl XLIV. more ›
