Gothamist House @ CMJ: Day Four
We've already announced the lineups for days one, two and three at Gothamist House, and here comes day four (the final day). As a reminder, this year WOXY will be broadcasting from the space -- so if you find yourself at work you'll still be able to listen in! At the end of the week stay tuned for a Best of Gothamist House podcast, also provided by WOXY. Now, without further ado:

MOVIES: With another version of Hairspray hitting the big screen this summer, it seems to be a season of decades past and, of course, hair! Movies With a View brings back the musical tale of Central Park hippies, small town boys headed to Vietnam and the '60s as they show the film Hair tonight.

MOVIE: The 10th Annual New York International Children's Film Festival commences tonight, starting with the US premiere of the French animated film U (which includes unicorns!). A kid-friendly catered reception will take place after the film.

MOVIE: The First Time I Was Twenty is playing tonight as part of the New York Jewish Film Festival. According to Paper, French director Lorraine Levy "tells the story of a smart, chubby Jewish girl who endures rampant sexism and anti-Semitism in order to fulfill her dream of joining her high school’s all-male jazz band. Pretty in Pink it is not."
Live from Movable Hype: The Subjects
The folks over at Autopilot are still sending through some footage from our last Movable Hype show. Up above you can check out The Subjects. The sound for the recordings weren't that great this time around, but it sort of works with The Subjects rough around the edges "think rock".
Movable Hype Rocked
Thanks to all of the bands that played last night, and to all of you who came out. Our Movable Hype show turned two last night, and did so with a bang! The Subjects, Tall Hands, Bad Veins and Apes & Androids all rocked the house, and we enjoyed every second of it.
Gothamist Band Interview: The Subjects
One of the bands playing our Movable Hype show tonight, The Subjects, met at a New York City high school. Two of them students, two of them teachers...and their band name came from an argument about grammar. We love them already.
Live from Movable Hype: O'Death
Our next show is NEXT WEEK, on November 14th. Starring Apes and Androids, Bad Veins and The Subjects. One more band TBA. Tickets on sale here!
Apes and Androids are Everywhere
Tonight A & A play at the Awesome, Inc party at Galapagos. It's free, there will be free Sparks, you have no excuse not to go.
Movable Hype 10.0
We've got the last Movable Hype of 2006 coming up in November. We're so ahead of things this time, that we thought we'd post the info now, with some more details to come.
