Last night, the New Jersey Nets finished out their Garden State era with a 105-87 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. Philly led the entire time; the Nets came within a 1 point of the Sixers in the third quarter, but then the 76ers went on a run.

Linescapable: Twitter All Lin When It Comes To Jeremy Lin
Twitter was first on the scene for all the Linsanity last night as Jeremy Lin, #Linning and #Linsanity became trending terms in NYC (and also in LA!). But among all the celebrities, sports writers, fans and Twitter personalities to weigh in on the Lin phenomenon, no single tweet was more touching than one from fellow Knick Amare Stoudemire, who is currently in Florida mourning the sudden death of his brother Hazell. "Thanks to Jeremy Lin & The Knicks, Y'all help me get my mind off my Bro for a few hours, Thx. Great game guys. Enjoy the win. Travel safe," he tweeted after the game.
Last Night's Action: No Wins Here
The current Devils are one of the best teams in the NHL over the past 12 seasons, but that meant nothing as they opened up their new building with a loss. The Senators blew open a 1-1 game after two with three goals in the third and the Devils fell to 3-6-1 on the season. Luckily, they have a lot of home games coming up at “The Rock”.
Video of the Day: NYC Breakers
Comprised of breakdancers from various troupes, The New York City Breakers were the rivals of The Rock Steady Crew. Many became familiar with these breakers (Kid Nice, Mr. Wave, Action, Lil Lep, Glide Master, Icey Ice, Powerful Pexster and Flip Rock) during a legendary battle scene in Beat Street (watch here) where they went move for move with their aforementioned adversaries. They even performed for President Reagan at an event in New York, which you can watch here. Read more about the group's history here, and read an interview with Action here. Here's a video of them breakin' it down in NYC in 1983...
A Taste of Japonais
We recently got the opportunity to take a peek at Japonais, the much-anticipated Chicago import from partners Rick Wahlstedt, Miae Lim, and Jeffrey Beers. A great deal of detail went into the majestic space -- approximately 11,350 square feet (includes both inside and outside areas), which seats close to 300 patrons -- decked out with gold banquettes, red plush chairs, and multiple seating areas, including the bar and lounge, main dining room, an upstairs lounge, and a sushi bar. The centerpiece of the main dining room is a striking tree sculpture featuring custom blown glass pods created for the restaurant by Beers and his team from Urban Glass.

Drink Up: Club 49
Inspired by this week's Time Out New York cover story this week, we visited a new bar/lounge in Times Square- we went to Times Square in search of a bar that would be entertaining for out-of-towners. At a glance, Club 49 aims to be competition for Top Of The Rock but at closer inspection it's bottle service among the billboards. With uninspired decor on the main level- semi-private booths and curved cocktails tables against the windows- we were trying to put our finger on what the place reminded us of, the lounges at any W Hotel, definitely (you can even see the huge W sign from the bar), but something else. Then we got it- Ghost Bar in Vegas, another bar high above the city, within a hotel and notably full of people who can't see the view from the scene.
How to Avoid Being Behind the Music
Minneapolis Star-Tribune is proud of their boy, even if they make fun of him and the whole shindig some. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will air this Sunday on VH1.
