Marlins 7, Mets 4: Who thought this bad dream would last this long? Needing a quality start from Oliver Perez to stop their bleeding, the Mets instead got a vintage -- as in 2005 -- effort in their fifth straight loss. Not even Byung-Hyun Kim could play the platelet to the Mets' open wound. The Marlins righty kept the Mets in check, and Oliver Perez lost control at the most critical points. Even David Wright,......

Senators 3, Devils 2: The good news is that the Devils scored. When that qualifies as a positive development, things probably aren't going well. They didn't score enough, and now they are facing elimination and a 3-1 series deficit. The pivotal play came when Dany Heatley took a shot from the right boards and knocked it into the net off Martin Brodeur's skate, giving Ottawa a 2-1 lead at the time. Hot goalies often win......

- Marlins 4, Mets 1: Pedro Martinez was strong in his 2nd start since coming off the disabled list, but the Mets offense was unable to offer him much run support off of Dontrelle Willis and the Marlins. While the Mets may have lost against the......

While the Mets as a team have never been very successful against the Flounders Marlins, it didn't matter much yesterday because all they needed was David Wright in the 3-2 win. Wright was drove in all three Mets runs including the 9th inning game winning run. Tom Glavine had another solid outing, lasting 6 innings and allowing 5 hits and 2 runs while striking out 5. Willis got his 2nd no-decision in the young season,......

The Mets announced the re-signing of Kris Benson yesterday as their busy off season continues. Benson was acquired by the Mets during the season when the Mets had hope of making the playoffs, but those quickly vanished. Throughout the season, he has said he would like to remain a Met, but no deal was reached until the off-season. Despite being a free agent, it was thought that the Benson would remain with the Mets anyway.......

The Mets lost their 11th straight game last night, falling 3-0 (box score) to the Marlins. How is that an improvement? Well, the Mets were a mere three runs away. Sure, they only got four hits off of Josh Beckett, but who's counting! A statistic that is uglier than their losing streak, the Mets have not had a lead in 58 innings - more than six games. The 11 game losing streak is the worst......
