makes nice with the stylized visuals giving us the most lush, chiseled, half-naked warriors and warrior wives ever depicted on screen. In particular the actors playing the Spartan queen and king, Lena Headey and Gerard Butler look like they were carved from stone. Word to the wise though, the flick is long on gratuitous, baroque violence and short on three dimensional characters.

We think The Go Team was a little bit inspired by PacManhattan (remember that?) while making one of their videos. Check it out, for their song "Junior Kickstart":

Portland, Oregon resident M. Ward (or "Matt", as his friends call him) is an enigmatic good 'ol fashioned singer/songwriter. Appearing detached and independent from the world he connects to through music, he seems to come to us from another time and place. Without pretense he delivers songs with a voice that hangs in the air, enchanting an audience of listeners who are always left wanting more. An old soul with a guitar and the ability to tell a story through song, his live show is not one to be missed. Tomorrow night he plays Town Hall for the first time.

Ooh, via Capn Design (via The Go Figure), Adidas is turning up the marketing for its adicolor shoes with some cool in-store displays. Only the stores are not Adidas stores but regular ol' bodegas. Hyper-important must-see event of the month, first:

You're probably all saying, "Why go out after Gothamist's Movable Hype show last night? It's been done to perfection." That's a valid point, but the next week has quite a few worthwhile shows you should consider.

We should mention here that this band can also kick your bands ass when it comes to style. They know how to dress, they know how to get you to dance (or at the very least sway rhythmically) and they are playing tomorrow night at Rothko (details below), so get there and check them out.
