Pencil This In
THEATER: Survey: Do women actually, um, enjoy Playgirl magazine? It’s a timeless question, and one that - according to former editor Ronnie Koenig - even haunted the boss herself. Her multimedia play Dirty Girl, now in previews, is about her “quest to find a woman who actually likes the beefcakes in the magazine.” The cast has been blogging and a book deal is in the works. This Week's Music Picks
Hello Gothamist readers. Allow me to introduce myself. Some of you may know me as the music-obsessed blogger over at BrooklynVegan.com. Now you'll also know me as the music-obsessed blogger here at Gothamist. I'll attempt to keep you informed of the shows you don't want to miss each and every week. I'll try my best not to miss anything, not make mistakes, and bring you as much variety as possible, but unfortunately I'm only human. Work with me. Use the comment section to offer your own recommendations, suggestions, and corrections. And now on to the shows...
KEXP NYC
KEXP's New York studio will be at the Museum of Television & Radio, located at 25 W. 52nd St. So plan your lunch hours accordingly so you can catch some of these shows, which are all held late morning and mid day.
Sell Outs: A Special Edition
This is where Gothamist tells you what tickets to buy...before they sell out and you are left bargaining on Craigslist.
Sell Outs
This is where Gothamist tells you about all of the shows you should buy tickets for NOW because they will in fact sell out, and you will in fact be scanning Craigslist in hopes of finding a ticket for double the face value at the last minute. So pay attention and purchase wisely. This months list was particularly hard to compose because of the ratio of really good shows to the amount of money we have in our pocket.
