If you thought your Christmas was depressing, the Burg (with some help from the All-For-Nots) are here to share your pain. Non-trust fund hipster bread lines, depression, hand-made garbage gifts, suicide threats...Happy Holidays from the Burg!

You may know Bob McClure as "Jed" on The Burg, but off screen he's an integral part of the family biz: McClure's Pickles. They're serious about their spicy garlic dills, which are now available in their two hometowns: Brooklyn and Detroit. We asked Bob a few questions recently about pickle flavors, what drink goes best with a dill, and more.

There have been murmurs of Galapagos moving from its current space for a while now. The Burg even did an entire episode about saving it. From that show:

Every year that tragically hip (used to be Downtown) now-Midtown magazine, Paper, gives us a list of all the beautiful people. Some are famous, most you've never heard of, all of them are pretty on the inside (and/or outside!) and most importantly - they're all doing something cooler than you. Let's take a look at some of this years BPs:

The Daily Reel introduces us to "Bodega".

This is almost like The Burg's baby years! Here's the part one of the pilot of the Columbia University soap opera, The Gates (here's part two and part three). One of the actors told the Columbia Spectator, "I don't think I'm going to have any more friends. I'm scared I'm going to come off as a spectacular douche bag."

READING: Head to the NYPL for the Borowitz Report On The Future - "in a totally improvised and spontaneous program, cybersatirist Andy Borowitz will answer the audience's questions about what the future holds for current events, pop culture, sports, business, and Paris Hilton, with the guarantee that he will be at least as accurate as the New York Post," runs the NYPL description. - Krissa Corbett Cavouras

Since The Burg just hosted our Movable Hype show, we've kind of got them on the brain. Luckily, this little clip above magically appeared and satisfied our disaffected soul. It's way better than the Chicken Noodle Soup Dance, too (though we would also like to see them do that).

Check out the above clip and see for yourself.

We'll have some video from that soon, but for now - from our 8th show that took place this summer, check out Takka Takka. They play Central Park tonight with Clap Your Hands Say Yeah. So if you like music, nature and beautiful days - head up there.

THEATER: The talented Michael Gladis, who theatergoers may recall from the hit 2000 revival of Brecht’s Baal, is currently appearing in ‘nami at The Kirk Theater. This darkly humorous drama is about a suburban woman’s belief that she has uncovered a plot to sell a child of Tsunami-ravaged Indonesia into sex slavery by her neighbors. Sounds heavy, but Martin Denton at nytheatre.com hails ‘nami as “indie theatre at its very best” and the “most exciting play” he’s seen so far this season. That’s saying something, because Denton goes to enough shows to make him the Brooklynvegan of New York theater. - John Del Signore

Movable Hype 9.0 is just around the corner. As mentioned before, this show will be at The Spiegeltent, the 100 year old travelling wooden tent (complete with a beer garden!) that's been set up on Pier 17 until October.

The time has come again, another Movable Hype show is upon us, the 9th to be exact. We've had every show at the Knitting Factory's main space for almost two years, and we'll go back there right away, but for this one we're taking a bit of a field trip. This show will be at The Spiegeltent, the 100 year old travelling wooden tent (complete with a beer garden!) that's been set up on Pier 17 until October.

We thought we'd end the weekend with the latest short from The Burg (they are, after all, hosting our next Movable Hype show - final details to come!)

The next Movable Hype show is September 27th at Spiegeltent (with the cast of The Burg hosting, some Stellastarr*'s deejaying, and bands - to be announced! - rocking you).

As we've mentioned before, this next Movable Hype show will be at the Spiegeltent. The tent is amazing, about 100 years old, has travelled way more than we ever have and comes complete with a stage, beer garden and a whole lotta pretty.

We honestly didn’t expect to love internet sitcom The Burg as much as we do. “Making fun of hipsters…so original,” we thought. But you know what, it’s a really good show, and it “works” somehow. With music by local bands playing in the background, the show is a great snapshot of Brooklyn (even if it’s a small, hilarious, thumbnail photo).

Best quote from Grenier on how Williamsburg differs from Hollywood, "...no manicured lawns, things are a bit more grimey, a little more real. I was in Williamsburg before Williamsburg was Williamsburg. Yes, I was an innovator."

The description on the site totally sold us:
