London street-art gallery scenesters are taking over part of Bowery starting tomorrow. The gallery Lazarides (owned by Banksy's agent, of the same name) is coming cross the pond and setting up a pop-up gallery in a former restaurant supply store at 282 Bowery. The show is titled The Outsiders, and the works will be housed both inside and outside of the space. Here's what to expect:

“Lazarides promises to cut to the core of the Big Apple. Antony Micallef will show his huge Times Square piece (illustrated) and Faile, JR and Blu, whose huge graphic murals adorned Tate Modern will show alongside Jonathan Yeo’s porno portrait of the US President. Zevs will perform using his unique liquidated logo on a very different kind of naked canvas. Invader, famous for leaving cubic aliens around the planet, will be revealing his most ambitious psychogeography to date, and another secret work will provide a certain famous lady with some much needed funding for her forthcoming presidential campaign.”

That last piece mentioned is currently still being held in customs! And Mr. Lazarides told the NY Sun that the street-art popping up nearby the temporary gallery is not associated with his exhibit, nor is it associated with his star client, Banksy, who won't be involved with the show. Lazarides told the paper, "there's nothing by him in the show at all. He's just planning his own big shows at the moment, so he didn't have time to contribute." Brooklyn street artist D.Billy has been adorning the town with impermanent art. The temporary "tags" have been spotted under and above ground, and his mediums have included balloons, streamers and artist tape. He says of his work:

I have begun to add visual representations of sound effects to public spaces as a sort of dimensional graffiti. After embellishing the found scenes and photographing the results, I leave my additions in place to engage passers-by for as long as the materials hold up. For me, this process encourages a reexamination of surroundings and objects that are usually taken for granted, and injects a hint of the fantastical surreality that I have established in my other work.

He adds that he hopes you find them funny. One thing is certain, this is totally up new Brooklyn resident Michel Gondry's alley!
