Relatives of Staten Island resident Eric Bellucci were relieved after he was arrested in Tel Aviv, Israel. The 30-year-old Stuyvesant High School graduate is suspected of fatally stabbing his parents in their Annandale home on Tuesday night before fleeing the country, and his relatives "feared he would come back to kill them." His uncle said, "Now he can't harm himself or anyone else. What he did was very dramatic and bad. His sister and brother still love him. We won't exclude him out of the family. SI Man, Suspect In Parents' Killings, Arrested In Israel

The 30-year-old Staten Island resident, who police believe killed his parents in their Staten Island home on Wednesday night, was arrested in Israel today. Eric Bellucci, described as a "brilliant but troubled" Stuyvesant High School and Williams College grad, was spotted by an airport employee at Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv at 2:30 a.m. EST. He was "trying to book a flight to Beijing, China via Istanbul on Turkish Air" with his credit card, but when that didn't work, he attempted to get cash and was reportedly acting suspiciously. more ›

Israeli Security Suspicious of Alvin Ailey Dancer

The Daily News reports that a dancer in the Alvin Ailey dance company was forced to dance "to convince Israeli airport security he was no Islamic terrorist." Abdur-Rhaim Jackson's first name aroused attention, and he explained that his father "converted to Islam and gave me this name." He also showed them a brochure with his photographs in it, prompting them to ask him to dance, "I was embarrassed, but I was afraid to do something wrong that may cause me to look suspicious." So he did and then was asked to dance again for another guard before being allowed to pass. Jackson said he would not formally complain, "We're only here to bring positive light to our lives and the people here." The Alvin Ailey Dance Theater is celebrating its 50th anniversary with an international tour and many other events. more ›
