Parents Pissed About "Cursing" Dolls At Toys R Us

Seems like you can't make a doll these days without horribly offending delicate parents— just yesterday adults were getting all up in arms over a tattooed Barbie, and now, Toys R Us is in hot water for selling a talking doll that some say utters the phrase "Okay, crazy b*tch." more ›

Brooklyn Man Thrown Off Flight For Dropping F-Bomb Twice

Brooklyn Man Thrown Off Flight For Dropping F-Bomb Twice

Sure, airplane passengers have been thrown off flights for joking about bombs, but being thrown off a flight for dropping the F-bomb seems like a new one: Brooklyn resident Robert Sayegh says he was thrown off an Atlantic South Airlines flight to Newark Liberty Airport after he complained, "What's taking so (expletive) long to close the overhead compartments?" Hey, the plane had been at the gate at Detroit's Metro Airport for 45 minutes without moving! more ›

Charges Dropped Against Sharpton's Swearing Ex, Daughter

Rev. Al Sharpton's ex-wife and daughter are off the hook on charges of obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest, harassment and disorderly conduct, after unleashing a string of curse words at cops in Harlem. Today they received an dismissal of charges, provided they aren't arrested in the next six months (23-year-old Dominique Sharpton was recently involved in an alleged domestic abuse incident), reports the Post. "In America, you have the right to object to police action," said the women's lawyer. "And certainly you should not be arrested and prosecuted for objecting if you've committed no crime." more ›

Al Sharpton's Daughter Allegedly Slugged by Boyfriend

Cops are looking for the boyfriend of Rev. Al Sharpton's daughter, who allegedly punched her and pushed her from a parked car as the two argued about their relationship yesterday. Last year Rev. Sharpton defended his 23-year-old daughter Dominique via Twitter and other outlets when she and her mother were arrested for swearing at cops while stopped at a Harlem traffic light. But now it seems like the verbally aggressive daughter has found herself a physically abusive mate! The Post reports that the boyfriend, Latrelle Peeks, fled the scene while the young Sharpton was taken to Harlem Hospital around noon for treatment of a split lip. more ›

Rev. Al Sharpton: Swearing Isn't A Crime

Rev. Al Sharpton: Swearing Isn't A Crime

Rev. Al Sharpton says police had no reason to arrest his ex-wife and daughter after they swore at officers during a Harlem traffic stop last month. In a message spanning three consecutive Tweets, the president of the National Action Network said police erred in cuffing Kathy Jordan and Dominique Sharpton: "The court hearing on the traffic arrest of kathy and dominique got some media attention. Now the police says they cursed at them. One Problem with the new police story. It is not illegal to question a traffic ticket or even use profanity. They deny using profanity and I Don't condone cursing at police. However people have the right to question a traffic ticket. This is absurd." more ›

Serena Williams Fined $82,500 For US Open Freak Out

The AP reports, "Serena Williams was fined a record $82,500 for her U.S. Open tirade and could be suspended from that tournament if she has another 'major offense' at any Grand Slam in the next two years." During the semi-finals against Kim Clijsters, Williams had yelled at a line judge, "I swear to God, I'm f*ckin' takin' this ball and shovin' it in(?) your f*ckin' throat… I swear to God." She was initially fined $10,000 but Grand Slam administrator Bill Babcock found Williams "violated the 'major offense' rule for 'aggravated behavior.'" Update: The NY Times says Williams was fined "a hefty $175,000," which will be reduced to $82,500 if she stays out of trouble for two years. more ›

"Keep Fucking That Chicken" Double Standard?

"Keep Fucking That Chicken" Double Standard?

Everyone loves to "Keep fucking that chicken!" Well, at least say the bizarre yet irresistible catch phrase coined by WNYW Fox 5 anchor Ernie Anastos. If it's not Jon Stewart being jealous that Anastos got to use it first, then it's the Reverend Al Sharpton guessing that term's meaning. The Reverend told City Room, "It could be a kind of phrase: ‘Well, keep doing what you are doing. Keep going after it.' Even if you are tired or distracted, keep on doing that chicken, that kind of thing." We don't think fatigue or distraction will ever keep us from saying "Keep fucking that chicken!" (and then giggling for a few minutes). more ›

In Top Chef Era, Fame Spotlights Chefs' Foul Language

Sure, the stress and time pressures of the kitchen inevitably spark infernos of obscenity, but recent shows like Top Chef and Hell's Kitchen have exposed the salty language of star chefs to untold millions. Last week’s Top Chef episode raised eyebrows for its higher-than-normal profanity quotient, when contestants lit into each other with so much F-bombing “the resulting bleeps ran together like a test of the old Emergency Broadcast System,” according to the Times. more ›
