We've mentioned it a few times already, but here's another warning: The MTA is shutting down the 1, 2, and 3 lines below 34th Street, Monday through Friday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. While some of you might complain, the MTA will use the time to make needed repairs.

Here we go again. As mentioned yesterday, the cash-strapped Metropolitan Transportation Authority is looking for a way to cut costs — meaning that just about all of the extensive service cuts that were approved and then rescinded last year are on the table again.
Oh, Snap: 1 Train Screwed
Oh, God, Gothamist totally did not mean to target the 1/9 trains this morning. We were joking. We had no idea there would be a freaking broken rail (aka rail condition) that would further mess up the 7th Avenue Local. We're so sorry: Gothamist thought if we joked about it, nothing would happen. But clearly, there are some things we just cannot joke about.
