Shevell and Macca Get Examined from Waist Down

Just last week MTA board member Nancy Shevell was under a microscope for skipping a crucial fare-hike vote in order to fulfill her new full-time job duties of being Paul McCartney's girlfriend. A socialite at heart, the 48-year-old Shevell is still gallivanting around town with Macca this week, most recently for the Natural Resources Defense Council gala. The organization focuses on climate change issues and was honoring Stella for her environmentally-friendly design. A UK rag takes a look at the unfortunate glittery sheer leggings Ms. Shevell wore to the event, and the even more unfortunate zipper issues the 66-year-old McCartney had with his pants. A wardrobe malfunction that would have been way hotter about 45 years ago.

West Village residents may need to get ready for an onslaught of British paparazzi: Rumor has it that Heather Mills, ex-wife of Beatle Paul McCartney, is buying an apartment at 173 Perry Street.

Christie's is finally getting on the overpriced vintage concert t-shirt bandwagon. Today they bring 30 rock tees to the block as part of their Rock and Pop Memorabilia auction, and all are expected to sell for up to $4,500 each. Remember when Stella McCartney was creating overpriced rock tees for Chloe? We sort of blame her for this."The fact that these T-shirts exist in such pristine condition is remarkable because most people didn't keep these...

Did you know New York is #4 of America's Best Vegetarian-Friendly Large Cities? It's no surprise there are so many famous and not-so-famous veggies living here. Focusing on the former, PETA is holding another poll asking who the Sexiest Vegetarian worldwide is. This is their sixth annual sexy veggie contest, and has a list of 233 celebs competing for the title, including our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man Tobey McGuire. While the poll only includes Hollywood herbivores, AMNY notes that celebs aren't the only high profile folk with a taste for tofu. If Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich were to win the 2008 presidential election, he'd be the first vegetarian in the White House.

"More important, however, is the sheer scope of the proposed store in comparison with Apple's two existing Manhattan-area retail presences -- if not the world. The space will easily outsize both the 21,577 square feet of Apple Store SoHo and the yet-larger 25,000 square feet of the subterranean Fifth Avenue location. Property allotted to the third store will be so large, in fact, that its showrooms alone should dwarf the total area given to either of the present-day Apple stores."

Lawsuits and Naomi Campbell are magical together! Gaby Gibson, the former maid who got beatdown by Campbell after she couldn't find her Stella McCartney jeans in January, filed a second lawsuit against Campbell. The first lawsuit mentioned "employment discrimination, civil assault and civil battery" and now the second adds more defendants (Campbell's publicist, for one), and charges of defamation and "repeated discriminatory assaults based on her national origin."

- One woman fell during the feeding frenzy, and shoppers just stepped over her. Another was crying. One petite lady stood on top of a chair so she could grab at a silk shirt that was too high, while throwing the rest of the batch down to her friends. A group of moms even brought a stroller along just to pile clothes in it. Gothamist only wishes that Stella or whichever high fashion designer H&M selects next (Nicholas Ghesquiere? Roland Mouret? Alexander McQueen?) do a Crazy Eddie style commercial, ending with "...and the prices are INSANE!"

Discuss: Fashion designer, famous Beatle child, and friend of Madonna and Gwyneth, Stella McCartney, and actress Samantha Morton. Samantha Morton will be able to play Stella in any Paul McCartney or Madonna movie.
