Cuomo Brokers Upstate Yogurt Peace Deal

Greek yogurt enthusiasts were heartened when they read a press release from Governor Cuomo's office yesterday, thanking two upstate mayors "for coming together to resolve" the Great Fage Yogurt Factory Dispute Of 2011. The towns of Johnstown and Gloversville were squabbling about the factory, but the Steamroller got involved and got them to make peace and let the delicious, rich yogurt project move forward. Interesting, apparently Cuomo heard about the two towns' spat by watching the TV. more ›

Shocking: Spitzer's Co-Host Hates His Steamrolling

CNN's new talking head personality Kathleen Parker is learning what New York learned about four years ago: Eliot Spitzer is full of himself. Before that whole hooker thing, Spitzer bullied Albany lawmakers to get his way (which we didn't mind so much). So it's not a surprise to read this Page Six item: "Washington Post columnist Kathleen Parker actually stormed off the set of the 'Parker Spitzer' show during a pre-taping a few weeks ago -- furious that her co-host is continually allowed to take charge of their nightly CNN chat-fest, the insiders said." more ›

What Hooker Scandal? Spitzer Eyeing A Comeback

After gradually emerging out from under his scandal rock, former Governor Eliot Spitzer has stepped fully into the spotlight, with a sprawling profile in today's Times and the forthcoming issue of Fortune. The magazine interview, by Peter Elkind, is timed with the release of his new book on Spitzer, Rough Justice: The Rise and Fall of Eliot Spitzer. Now it's been confirmed that Steamroller himself oversaw a pricey Manhattan real estate transaction. more ›

Possible Return Of Spitzer, The Steamroller-Hooker Aficionado

Even though it's officially September, it's still sort of like a slow summer news week—which is perhaps why the NY Post is suggesting on its front page that former governor Eliot Spitzer is considering a new statewide run! The headline is tabloid gold, of course. But is there any truth to the story? more ›

Former governor Eliot Spitzer has come back into the public eye with an editorial in the Washington Post called "How to Ground The Street". The WaPo subheadlines the editorial,"The Former 'Enforcer' On the Best Way to Keep Financial Markets in Check," but let's face it--most people know him as the 'Steamroller' or 'That Governor Who Had to Resign Because He Regularly Saw Prostitutes.' more ›

Spitzer and Assembly Democrats Meet in Brooklyn

"With Spitzer, it seems like he’s walked into buzz saws of his own devising." - Richard Norton Smith, biographer of former Gov. Thomas E. Dewey, to the NY Times Today, Governor Spitzer dropped in on the State Assembly Democrats' annual meeting, which has been characterized as being "almost like a pre-game show to the session," held at the Marriott in downtown Brooklyn. According to video from Elizabeth Benjamin at the Daily Politics, an almost warm-and-... more ›
