City Harvest reports (via their Facebook) that "FreshDirect donated approximately 72,000 pounds of food this week after Monday’s snowstorm brought business to a halt on the East Coast." After a fire in a restaurant that prefers to remain anonymous, the soup kitchen received a donation of a $1,100 tin of Petrossian caviar. So Maureen Fitzpatrick, the kitchen's sous chef, is planning on serving up blinis and creme fraiche for the expected 200 visitors, who dine restaurant-style with real non-paper plates!
