Seems that people really are offended by this mural! Tonight at 6 p.m. there is actually going to be a protest against Sofia Maldonado's work recently put up in Times Square.
Is That Times Square Mural Really Controversial?
Something tells us this mural in Times Square isn't as controversial as some calling for its takedown may want it to be. Looseworld followed 26-year-old Puerto Rican artist Sofia Maldonado as she created the massive piece in a storefront—and from the first drops of paint to assembling it on the sidewalk, passerby seem to love it. When asked what he thinks of the women in the mural, one of the men hired to paint the background declares, "Niiiiiiiiice."

Is this mural a step back for women? Is it taking Times Square back to its peep show days? That's what some are saying, and now 26-year-old Latina artist Sofia Maldonado is facing harsh criticism over her work that recently went up on 42nd Street.
