It's unclear what started the fight that's being reported in this kind of confusing police blotter item, but the takeaway here is that you should avoid confrontations with pregnant women at all cost. Cops say a 24-year-old pregnant woman was punched in the face by an unidentified assailant in her late 20s riding the No. 4 train at 138th Street/Grand Concourse Sunday night. The pregnant woman then fought back by pulling a folding knife and slashing the woman's left arm. The Post reports that the "attacker fled"... having realized that she couldn't throw this momma from the train. Tip your waitress!

Park Slope Resident Attacked, Slashed
Last week an ex-con attacked a woman in Park Slope, and the news is hitting the papers today. The NY Post reports that 32-year-old Thomas Russo followed 39-year-old Diana Greiner along 6th Avenue in Brooklyn last Tuesday around 11:45 p.m. Somewhere near Lincoln Place, Russo struck Greiner's skull (fracturing it) and slashed her face and body before fleeing on foot into a bodega. He was caught on tape and is currently being charged with attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon. Russo had violated his parole in April, but was still free to roam the streets; his prior run-ins with the law included attempted robbery and marijuana possession.
