Well, it looks like its walls are made out of regular ol' brick. Maybe it's been artfully distressed, but given it goes for $225,000, we were expecting marble, maybe a robot manservant, though some people do go gaga for exposed brick. This the parking space mentioned in last week's NY Times article, the one that made New Yorkers and non-New Yorkers alike think, "What the hell is going on with the real estate market?" The space is at new building 246 West 17th, whose website is Sim City-ish and really annoying.

The New York City Journal is a blog about New York... in Sim City. It's author has spent many months laboriously recreating every detail of the five boroughs, from Times Square, to MSG, to Governors Island, to Roosevelt Island, and beyond. It's amazing stuff-- page through his monthly archives for reenactments of major New York events like September 11th and the Upper East Side plane crash.

Not a big fan with the businesses and layout of New York's buildings? Well, good news for you! Atari is coming out with Tycoon City: New York, which will supposedly have "true-to-life" neighborhoods, landmarks, and a bustling atmosphere. It's like Sim City: New York, but more detailed and "true-to-life". So if you don't like how that whole West Side Stadium thing is shaping up, perhaps you can place some buildings on the rail yard. The game will also have different jobs that you can take over: running a nightclub, throwing a concert in Central Park, owning a new restaurant, or organizing the Macy's Parade. Gothamist has to admit, organizing the parade does sound pretty awesome, but we would just have to add some panda and cat balloons.

Officials from the city and the from Jets, however, maintain that the stadium will help develop the West Side. Deputy Mayor Daniel Doctoroff called the RPA plan "flawed" and "a halfhearted recipe that will not produce significant change on the West Side." There's nothing quite like a debate over land use.
