Our readers had some interesting comments about the Mayor's recycling policy decisions and the possible scam of recycling; the most salient, though, was that people might just be consuming too much.

After four innings, the Mets had a 4-0 run, and when Jae Seo exited the game in the top of the 7th inning, the Mets were ahead 4-1. Immediately after entering the game in relief, Mike Stanton gave up a 3 run homer to the light hitting Endy Chavez. Lucky for the Mets, the Expos played to their record of 33-61 and lost the game in the 8th inning. Wigginton walked and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Todd Ziele then hit a grounder to Tony Batista, who threw the ball to Nick Johnson. Johnson flat out dropped the ball, allowing Wigginton to score and the Mets eventually won, 5-4 (box score).
Gothamist wonders why Mr. Washington is so bitter about Telfair going pro and his son staying home. The two players played each other in two games last season, with Telfair out playing Washington in both. In a nationally televised game between their two high schools, Telfair led Lincoln to a victory after injuring his ankle. During a basketball camp last summer, Telfair also played better than Washington. Strangely, Telfair and Washington Jr. are also close friends.
Will Sebastian Telfair be a success or a failure in the NBA? Would he have benefited as a player by going to school or was it better for him to cut and run? Gothamist secretly thought he would be going pro when we wrote about him last time, but we aren't sure if he can succeed with his height. Only time will tell. At least he knows how to do business, putting the adidas announcement before his own announcement. For those of you hoping that he could join his cousin Stephon Marbury on the Knicks, keep dreaming. The Knicks don't have a first round draft pick this year.
