Back in the 1980s, when we were little nerds in Brooklyn, the Paul Pfieffer character on the Wonder Years was our patron saint. Asthmatic, near-sighted, and underweight-- he had it all, and was played with great-verve by Josh Saviano. We hadn't thought much about him in the last 20 years, but naturally assumed he went the way of all child actors and was clutching a crackpipe in some drainage ditch in the San Fernando valley.
