Looks like the legend of Lin grows a little more. One night after defeating Kobe Bryant and the Lakers in New York, the Knicks went on the road to face the Timberwolves. Billed as a battle between dynamic point guards Ricky Rubio and Jeremy Lin, neither player was spectacular. But the Knicks and Lin were able to do just enough to win their fifth-straight game, defeating Minnesota, 100-98. Instead of heroics by Lin, this game was defined by the role his teammates played in the win.

Last Night's Action: Rangers Let Caps Off Deck
With a chance to bury the Capitals, the Rangers fell flat on home ice Monday. The two wins in Washington appeared a distant memory in a 4-0 loss. Alexander Ovechkin didn't score but assisted on the first two Washington goals, which effectively buried the Rangers. This game turned on a 14-second stretch in the first period. Alexander Semin got the Capitals on the board at the 6:57 mark. Ryan Callahan had a chance to tie it but missed the open net, and, 14 seconds later, Semin scored his second goal at the other end of the ice. Given the Rangers' trouble scoring goals, fans at the Garden knew it would be a long night. And it was.

Last Night's Action: Two Big Points
- Rangers 5 Buffalo 3: The end of the season is in sight and the playoff push is in full swing, luckily the Rangers seem aware of that. New York put together another solid effort and gained two big points on a team behind them in the standings. Ryan Callahan scored twice and Henrik Lundqvist made 37 saves. New York now has a four-point lead on the last playoff spot with ten games left in the season.
- Orlando 110 Knicks 103: Time is running out on the Knicks’ season. After disappointing losses to New Jersey and Sacramento, New York did much better against a very good team, but they fell short again. They have 13 games left and would have to win them all to have a .500 record. Worse, making the playoffs, will probably require somewhere around ten more wins at minimum.
- Ottawa 5 Islanders 2: New York is getting closer to clinching the worst record in the NHL, an achievement which would give them the top selection in the next draft.
- Walt Poddubny passes away at the age of 49 of unknown causes. #8 had a great two-year run on Broadway and will be remembered by Rangers’ fans.
