You can’t blame Giants fans for fearing the worst. But, while Akers’ kick had plenty of length, it was a little bit too far to the right, clanging off the upright and the Giants escaped from Philadelphia with a 16-13... more ›

Quick Hits: Isiah Must Have Been Unavailable Today

As for the Nets, it is hard to understand why they didn’t make a deal. With Vince Carter probably opting out of his deal at the end of the season and Jason Kidd getting older and older, this would have been a great opportunity to start the rebuilding process. Instead, the Nets will play out the string and possibly win the division, though that isn’t saying much. more ›

Eli Taking a Beating On and Off the Field

Last week Manning had a quarterback rating of zero. That’s actually harder to do than one might think. For instance, Giants punter Jeff Feagles, who is 0 for 1 with no interceptions on the season, actually has a passing rating of 39.2. more ›

A Good Day for the Mets

A Good Day for the Mets

Tonight, the Mets take on the Florida Marlins, who have won seven consecutive, in Miami. With any luck on the part of the Mets, the game will be rained out by the remnants of Hurricane Frances. Better yet, maybe they can finally scrape out a win. more ›

Mets Halt Skid

Mets Halt Skid

In the fifth inning, the Mets nearly lost the lead when Mike Piazza, playing first, had a ball go through his legs. The error resulted in two runs for the Phillies. Piazza certainly isn't playing a pretty first base, with three errors in the past week, but what can the Mets do? The best the Mets can hope for is that Piazza has a miraculous learning curve for his part-time position and he makes as few errors as possible. more ›
