But as he dropped to one knee to propose, the ring slipped out of his hands and fell between the slats! Kramer told CBS 2, "I heard something and I heard a clink, turned around and he was white as snow and in shock and I hadn’t even gotten to see it yet." This sounds familiar. more ›

Man Sues For 7-Carat Engagement Ring

Man Sues For 7-Carat Engagement Ring

We really can't tell who's the sane one in this lawsuit over a $100,000 diamond ring. In one corner, you have Larry Lipschutz, a real estate mogul who presented his girlfriend with the Princess-cut engagement ring weeks before an Orthodox Jewish wedding in 2006. In the other corner, you have Nadia Kiderman, a dentist who claims Lipschutz knew full well that she was still legally married to another man at the time of the ceremony. But Lipschutz allegedly didn't care, as long as she and her first husband had gotten a get—a traditional Jewish divorce document. According to the law, that was a problem. more ›

Jilted Fiancée Sues to Get His Engagement Ring Back

25-year-old Christopher Reinhold asked Colette DiPierro to marry him back in May 2009, and she said yes, accepting his $17,500 diamond engagement ring. But in September she broke off the engagement... and kept the ring. Now Reinhold is suing her for the return of the ring or its monetary value, plus $5,000 for fees and legal expenses. (This case is not to be confused with a lawsuit filed earlier this year by a man who allegedly cheated on his fiancée, who broke off the engagement and kept the $19K ring.) more ›

Betrayed Bride-to-Be Can't Keep Ring from Cheating Fiancé

Betrayed Bride-to-Be Can't Keep Ring from Cheating Fiancé

A Nassau County judge has overturned an unwritten law of bad breakups: If a bride-to-be finds out her fiancé cheated on her and the marriage is called off, she is definitely keeping (and selling) that ring, ideally blowing the windfall on a rebound getaway weekend in Cancun with all her friends. Danielle Cavalieri, a former flack for fancy PR firm Dan Klores, was supposed to marry her Long Island high-school sweetheart, IT systems engineer John Gunther, last October. But after the whole thing went sideways, Cavalieri held on to the $19,000, 2.2-carat white gold engagement ring. So Gunther took her to court, to the abiding delight of the NY Post. more ›

It was found by staging director Tom Popple, who told the couple, "I'm holding it in my hand as we speak." The couple had called from Nobu 57, where they went to dine afterwards—aw, rich people. The woman says, "It's one of my favorite things. I wake up in cold sweats dreaming that I'm going to lose my ring—and the funny thing is, I did." Hilarious! Maybe it'll make it into a sketch this weekend. more ›

Have you seen this Emerald ring sculpture on top of 1 Sutton Place South? Curbed has some spy photos of the penthouse terrace, where it resides. Designer Lisa Perry and her hedge-fund hubbie Richard live in the luxury apartment, and prior to her 50th birthday she "had only to look out the window for a clue to what [he] had in mind as a gift. [He] gave his wife a ring that is a miniature version of Jeff Koons’s green Diamond, which graces the terrace of their New York penthouse." Show offs. more ›

Sorry Michael Phelps, Lindsay Lohan's just not that into you...but she is into her girlfriend Samantha Ronson! The NY Post is reporting (albeit via The Sun) that following the matching tattoos, the PDA and the dinner with Dina, the two have gotten engaged! Maybe. The paper reports, "just days after DJ Samantha Ronson announced at a gig that Lindsay would be her wife by the end of year," Lohan was spotted with a sparkling ring on a very important finger. While the giant, heart-shaped ring seems a more like a novelty piece, Ronson did declare: "By the end of this year, my love will be Mrs. Ronson!" Could a Ronson-Lohan baby be far off? more ›
