Back in July the lovable Sad Panda went missing from his regular spot downtown, leaving the city traumatized by his sudden disappearance. But miracles do happen, people, and as of today he has returned! And it looks like he even got himself a new set of hands.

Who could have predicted an art caper ending with a stolen piece being returned to the scene of the crime? One of two Russian masterpieces lifted from the walls of an Upper West Side museum has now been mailed back in one piece. The NY Post reports that the Nicholas Roerich Museum staff "were shocked Friday when the mailman delivered the $70,000 painting" (pictured) in a manila envelope where it was pressed between two pieces of cardboard. One employee told the paper, "I thought it was some junk mail. I opened the envelope. Everybody started jumping up and down." The sender even left a name and return address on the envelope (which was mailed from Brooklyn), though there's no word on if it's legit.

A woman who dropped a hundred dollar bill somewhere near a food cart at East 58th St. and Lexington had the money returned to her! The Daily News reports that an unidentified man found the bill on the sidewalk Monday and gave it to Egyptian immigrant food cart operator Emad Youssef. The vendor then turned it over to Rochelle Meyers, his distraught customer, when she returned the next day. Myers, an infertility clinic administrator from Jersey, needed the money for a new cell phone. “[Youssef] really restored my faith in human beings,” she tells the News. Youssef declares, “I'm Christian. In my religion, if I take somebody's money, it's haram [forbidden]. If I find any money and don't find the person, I give [it] to police."
