Not everyone was as overjoyed as we were when news came out yesterday that Donald "The Least Racist" Trump will moderate the GOP presidential debate in Des Moines on Dec. 27th. At least two candidates have proven they still have a shred of self-dignity, bowing out of The Apprentice: Ridiculous Posturing Edition: Jon Huntsman and Ron Paul. And Trump of course accepted the rejections graciously, calling Paul “a clown-like candidate” who like Huntsman has “inconsequential poll numbers or a chance of winning.”

House Rejects DTV Transition Delay
If you're using rabbit ears for your TV reception, you better get ready for the switch to digital transmission next month! The House of Representatives just rejected a bill delaying the switch to June. The vote was 258-168, just under the two-thirds majority needed to pass the bill; the bill was passed by the Senate on Monday. Earlier this week, Mayor Bloomberg held a press conference to discuss the transition, "Although most New Yorkers do not have to do anything to prepare for the national conversion to Digital Television because they subscribe to cable or satellite services, about 300,000 New York City households receive television signals over the air and may have older TVs that cannot accommodate a digital broadcast." Suicidal Man Takes Hostage at City College
Yesterday afternoon, a Brooklyn man was apprehended after threatening a City College student and holding what looked like a gun--but turned out to be a pellet gun--against the head of another student. The police convinced him to drop the gun and Kirk Hanley, 22, who had also pointed the gun at his own head, was found with suicide notes and taken to St. Luke's Roosevelt for observation.
