The 24-year-old Brooklyn man who admitted to killing four people and injuring four others during a 28-hour stabbing rampage across Brooklyn and Manhattan last February has been sentenced to 200 years to life in prison. Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Vincent DelGiudice called Maksim Gelman, who previously plead guilty to four counts of murder and one count of attempted murder, a "pathologically violent predator." And Gelman reportedly had harsh words for DelGiudice, telling him as he left the court, "suck my Russian di*k." DelGiudice replied, "I decline your offer." more ›

Subway Stabber Maksim Gelman Claims To Have Killed 6 Others

Maksim Gelman, the 24-year-old Brooklyn man who plead guilty to killing four people and injuring four others during a 28-hour stabbing rampage across Brooklyn and Manhattan last February, is due to be sentenced this week. He discussed the murderous rampage in a long jailhouse interview with the Daily News, and claimed he was responsible for six more murders before this year: “All my friends, they all tell me I’m crazy,” he said in a phone interview from Rikers Island. “I believe I’m schizophrenic and bi-polar...I know what’s going on but I tend to overreact.” more ›

Subway Stabber Pleads Guilty To Four Counts Of Murder

The Brooklyn man who was accused of killing four people and injuring four others during a 28-hour stabbing rampage across Brooklyn and Manhattan last February has plead guilty to all counts. Maksim Gelman, 24, who had pleaded not guilty last April and told police he would beat the charges, plead guilty to all charges in the 13-count indictment today. "He's pleading guilty without a promise," noted his lawyer Edward Friedman, adding there was no deal struck between the defense and DA's office. More Victims Face Schizophrenic Stabbing Spree Suspect

Two more tourists who were victims of a 2006 stabbing rampage in Midtown testified against Kenny Alexis, a schizophrenic homeless man accused in the attacks. The two Canadian women in their twenties recounted the 3 a.m. morning when they headed to McDonald's for a late night snack. Through a French translator, Melanie Carrier told the court, "I put my hand to my back, and I had blood on my hand...I looked at Audrey, and she had blood. I remembered I had a lot of blood." The Post describes how "the knife had sliced into her spine, cutting through both the sheath and the membrane that protect the precious spinal cord." On Friday the jury heard from Christopher McCarthy, who had been stabbed in the heart by Alexis while on the subway. The Post says that Alexis is "arguing that he didn't do it, but if he did, he was too crazy to be responsible for his actions. " more ›
