We've got a few pairs of passes to give away to the following Tribeca Film Festival events, and we want to give them to you...

Even though the network media upfronts don't mean anything - except to advertisers - because schedules can be shuffled and shows killed between now and fall, Gothamist is still excited, because it's about hope (Tina Fey's new show to be good, Veronica Mars to be picked up) and new seasons of shows we love (The Office, My Name is Earl...and, heck, we can't help but watch Grey's Anatomy). Anyway, there are a lot of NYC-set shows coming in the fall season; NBC has Kidnapped and The Black Donnellys. Things we're wondering about:

This kind of weather makes us want to do one thing, and one thing only: walk through the snow filled streets with a hot chocolate in one hand and John Cusack in the other. Mmm...serendipitous. Reality, however, will leave us with wet jean cuffs as we trudge through dirty (and oft yellow) snow. But at least we'll be on the way to something fun. Here are some suggestions to get you out of the house this weekend:

Wow, weeks of intense speculations from both political parties and the most inane patter-praise from the President can really do something: Harriet Miers has withdrawn her Supreme Court nomination. Maybe she was upset that her makeunder was so poorly received. Maybe she didn't want to go through the hassle of explaining her multi-party colors. Maybe she didn't want to see Rachel Dratch carried around by Will Forte anymore. Maybe she realized she was a terrible candidate and that the President really isn't that smart. Maybe she wanted to steal the thunder of any indictment of a senior White House official whose name rhymes with "Marl Cove" in leak of Valerie Plame. Gothamist is just happy that Justice Sandra Day O'Connor is on the court for a little while longer - quick, speed up hearing some cases.

Sundance is definitely in full swing - you can tell by all the blurry-eyed revelers wandering up and down Main Street. We're trying to make all the rounds, but it's difficult because we actually have paying work to do at the festival.

The best thing about Virginia Heffernan's New Yorker profile of Tina Fey, besides feeding our Tina-Fey-starved minds, is the breakdown of the different comedy styles of SNL performers and writers:

Some good news today: Tiny Fey has reupped her contract as head writer and performer on Saturday Night Live for another two years. With news yesterday that Jimmy Fallon is on his way out, we can look forward to Fey-only Weekend Updates. Another bonus is that she'll be developing primetime shows. Having seen her awesome show with Rachel Dratch, Dratch and Fey, Gothamist looks forward to more Fey.

Adrien Brody will be hosting Saturday Night Live on May 10th. Gothamist guesses that there were be some bit about him kissing...he'll kiss Maya Rudolph, Amy Poehler, Rachel Dratch, Tina Fey, then the "funny" comes in when he kisses the SNL dudes, like Jimmy Fallon, Horatio Sanz, and Chris Kattan, maybe even Lorne. Gothamist won't bother to find any of the latest slash fiction about Adrien Brody and [insert actor here] but we will develop a drinking game.

I'm pretty much over Jimmy Fallon, like many others. He's funny, but not funnier than, say, Rachel Dratch. He's been riding the cute coattails a little too long in my book. Anyway, it doesn't mean I didn't know he was dating Tara Subkoff, sometime actress, designer of Imitation of Christ which is "Original of Crap" in my book. So I was intrigued when the Observer implied she's dating Wes Anderson(second item) and dissing Jimmy. Then I focused on Wes Anderson, wunderkind director. I thought he was dating Jennifer Wachtell, an executive at Miramax. She even played Rachel Tenenbaum, the deceased wife of Ben Stiller's Chas Tenenbaum, in The Royal Tenenbaums. Hmm, stay tuned. It could just be people's publicists baiting their clients' exes in public. If that's the case, bait on!
