The Bryant Park Summer Film Festival has been announced. Starting off on June 19th and runing through August 21st, there will be a handful of movies we've never seen, which is just as fun as seeing our old faves. We'll definitely be there opening night for The Birds - that movie scared us good when were little. Here's the full lineup:

A couple of nights ago Gothamist was lucky enough to be inducted into the most prestigious of clubs. The Flaming Lips Furries Club. It's not a real club, but it exists none-the-less. If you are a Lips fan you know what we are talking about, if you aren't we'll give you a brief introduction. The furries are fans chosen prior to each show to dress up in various animal costumes and dance on stage during the show. So Thursday night there we were in our owl costume holding a high powered flashlight and dancing on stage, getting covered in confetti and smiling like crazy underneath our mask.
Fear of TiVO has led NBC to create 1 minute short films during station breaks, in order to keep viewers on the channel and not only to keep watching NBC programming but also the advertisers who pay NBC dearly to advertise on the "Number One Channel for Viewers 18-49!" The Times' Bill Carter looks the scheme, called "1MMs", and its implications for the business.
