Video: Baby Sea Lion Makes Debut On Coney Island!

The Wildlife Conservation Society’s New York Aquarium has just welcomed its newest addition: this baby sea lion! The pup was born to Clarice, and is the first to ever be born at the aquarium. She doesn't have a name yet, that will be on the auction block on September 22nd at the WCS's annual benefit dinner and auction—and if you can't afford that honor, the organization is always looking for any donations, lest they're forced to fire more animals! As for the new pup, Jon Dohlin, director of the New York Aquarium, says: “She is very sweet, and we are sure she will become an instant Coney Island celebrity and a favorite among our guests.” more ›

Bulldog Dies On Delta Flight

A sad story comes over the Craigslistwire, where a poster says a 19 month old English Bulldog died on a Delta flight Wednesday night. They posted photos of the dog, postmortem, and say the NY ASPCA refuses to get involved, claiming it's a civil matter and they don't handle airport deaths. The dog was found dead, allegedly having froze to death, after the plane landed at JFK airport. more ›

As you know, the Westminster Kennel Club is holding their 133rd annual All-Breed Dog Show, but did you know that 2008 Best in Show winner, Uno, helped light up the Empire State Building in its honor? His little award-winning paw switched on the purple and yellow lights at 10 this morning. Now he's not only the first beagle to win Westminster, but also the first beagle to get this ESB honor.
