Cold-Blooded Kindergartners: Suspensions Are Up 2.4% Even Among Wee Ones

If there's one thing that teaches children a lesson when they misbehave in class, it's keeping them at home from school. And the ones that need to learn this lesson the most? Kindergartners. According to data [Excel] compiled by the Post, PS 212 in Brooklyn suspended wee ones 13 times last school year, followed by 12 at PS 13 in Staten Island and 10 in PS 115 in Brooklyn. While we're unaware of the specific reasons as to why they were suspended, one source inside the classroom tells us, "I like to play with the ambulance. It goes WEEEOOOWWEEEOOO." more ›

TSA: "Freak On" Agent Has Been Punished

It may have taken the TSA ages to stop doing things like feeling up our nation's youth, but when an agent puts a note next to a passenger's vibrator saying "GET YOUR FREAK ON GIRL?" Oh you better believe their response is swift and firm. Surely we will all rest easy knowing that the Administration really means it when they say that they take "all allegations of inappropriate conduct seriously and is investigating this claim." Shoplifters Shamed And Extorted By Some Stores

Shoplifters Shamed And Extorted By Some Stores

Up until now, we thought the worst public punishment for shoplifting we'd heard of was the fictional stoning Larry David received in the 2nd season finale of Curb Your Enthusiasm, but that seems almost quaint compared to the ruthless tactics currently being employed by some local Chinese emporiums. Some shopkeepers have been taking the law into their own hands by demanding money from shoplifters they have caught. more ›

L.I. 5th Grader Suspended For Bringing Peppermint Oil to School

Administrators at a Long Island school suspended a 10-year-old girl for bringing peppermint oil to class. A teacher's assistant at John Mandracchia-Sawmill Intermediate School in Commack spotted fifth grader Sara Greiner offering friends a few drops of the cooking extract. "I told them it was just peppermint. You could put it in your water," she told ABC. "No one ever told me that peppermint oil was illegal." Greiner was sent to the principal's office and issued a one-day suspension. The school declined to explain why she was punished, but in a letter to Greinier's mother, Corrine Morton-Greiner, the principal wrote "[s]uch inappropriate and unacceptable behavior cannot and will not be tolerated." Greiner's mother is now fighting to remove the suspension from her daughter's permanent record. "If a child offers a quarter of their peanut and jelly sandwich to another student is that student going to be suspended? Where do we draw the line?" the mother asked. more ›
