In 2009 the PS 22 kids in Staten Island belted out "Don't Stop Believin'' by Journey, just one of the songs that put them on the map. And now the chorus is teaming up with fellow Staten Islander and former (1998 to 2006) Journey frontman Steve Augeri! The SI Advance eavesdropped on some rehearsals recently (video below), and says they'll all be performing it at Saturday’s Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Garden’s Italian Harvest Festival.

Video: PS 22 Kids Get Apology Note, Forgive Andy Cohen
The PS 22 Chorus from Staten Island received a public apology from their biggest critic, mean old Andy Cohen, on national television... and they just got a little apology note in the mail as well. The kids joke around singing him a song, "(Too Late To)" Apologize by One Republic. In the end, however, they all forgive him... and also give him a word of advice: if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
PS 22 Chorus to Mean Andy Cohen: "We're Little Kids!"
After Bravo's Andy Cohen (pictured here as a cartoon) railed against the PS 22 chorus's performance at the Oscars yesterday, seemingly all of America has turned against him. He's been sending one-off apologies to a few people on Twitter, but where's his apology to the 10-year-old kids he insulted on national television?
Mean Old Man Says PS 22 Kids Were "The Worst" At Oscars
You know how all of America is love with the PS 22 kids from Staten Island? Enter Bravo's soulless Andy Cohen, who appeared on MSNBC's Morning Joe show today where he took the 10-year-olds down a notch. His biting commentary can be seen and heard below (starting around the 3:30 mark), in which he declared:
Staten Island's PS 22 Kids Represent At The Oscars
At 11:38 p.m. last night the PS 22 kids from Staten Island were introduced to Hollywood's biggest names by Oscar co-hosts James Franco and Anne Hathaway. The 64 fifth graders ended the big show with a rendition of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow," led by their chorus director Gregg "Mr. B" Breinberg. They were joined by the Oscar winners at the end... which may have made their t-shirts look even more out of place, but we're glad they kept it real in front of an A-list crowd.
PS 22 Kids Totally Not Nervous About This Oscar Thing
In December, Anne Hathaway visited the kids at Staten Island's PS 22 to officially invite them to perform at the Oscars (which also means they will get to meet James Franco!). Prior to their departure, the Daily News gauged their nerves. 10-year-old Jonathan boldly declared, "I'm not nervous. I'm used to this." Other members of the chorus told them, "I have a chance to shine in the light. It's my biggest experience yet! We're going to the Oscars, baby! We are going to rip the walls from the Kodak Theater off!" A few are nervous to be away from their parents for so long, which... awww.
Awww, The PS 22 Chorus Is Heading to the Oscars
Nothing like screaming children to lighten up a cold Friday morning, right? For just that bit of fun watch the clip below where Anne Hathaway tells the always-popular PS 22 chorus that they are heading to the Oscars this year (the announcement comes a little after three minutes). The telecast, hosted by Hathaway and James Franco airs February 27.

Check her out performing some songs with the kids in the videos below... doesn't seem like she lip synced for this one! You can catch her yourself tonight—she'll be performing at the Rockefeller Christmas Tree lighting.

Video: Eye of the Tiger, Staten Island Style
Remember those amazing kids from P.S. 22 on Staten Island, and their equally amazing chorus teacher Gregg Breinberg (aka Mr. B)? Last year they charmed us all, including the one and only Tori Amos, and have gone on to work with bands like Passion Pit and Crowded House. SI Live checks in with the now 60-strong chorus, and declare them an official "internet sensation" with this new cover of "Eye of the Tiger."
Staten Island Public School Chorus Does Good
On Staten Island, the chorus at P.S. 22 has gotten themselves into the spotlight with some help from YouTube and their 36-year-old director Gregg Breinberg. The NY Times reports that Breinberg's bunch has performed everything from Viva la Vida by Coldplay to Flying Dutchman by Tori Amos. One 10-year-old voice in the contemporary chorus says, “When I get depressed, I think about my songs and it makes me feel better. I also sing for Mr. B because he takes his own time to teach me, and so I always put in a 100 percent effort because that’s a really cool thing for him to do.”
