Despite a disappointingly early exit from the playoffs just a few weeks ago, the handful of Giants who headed to Hawaii for this year's Pro Bowl seem to be enjoying themselves. Eli Manning will back up Kurt Warner in his first-ever trip, marking the first time two sibling quarterbacks will appear in the same game. Eli says that he has been invited more than once in the past by his brother, perennial Pro Bowler Peyton, but waited until he earned the nod as more than just a guest.
Giants Pro Bowlers Enjoy Their Lei in the Sun
Giants & Jets Send 13 to Pro Bowl; Start Bickering Now
Eli Manning will be in the same Pro Bowl as his brother Peyton. History is made! (But how does Matt Ryan feel about Eli's inclusion?) The Giants will send six to Hawaii, including both punter Jeff Feagles and placekicker John Carney. Combined age? 86. Their vaunted defense will have only one representative in Justin Tuck. That seems funny. The Giants' stellar offensive line did get some love. Guard Chris Snee will start, and center Shaun O'Hara will be a reserve.
Umenyiora 6, Philadelphia 3
John Madden said it best on the air, “Osi Umenyiora made the Pro Bowl in one night tonight”. Umenyiora turned in one of the greatest games by a defensive end ever, sacking Donovan McNabb six times officially and just missing out on a few other opportunities. And it wasn’t just Umenyiora, the defense had a dominating night. recording 12 sacks and holding the Eagles to only three points in the 16-3 win. Aaron Ross added some coverage to the secondary, Michael Strahan broke LT’s sack record, Kawika Mitchell had a fumble return for a touchdown and Antonio Pierce was everywhere.
Welcome to Canton, Mr. Carson

Carson spent all 13 seasons of his NFL career, from 1976-1988, with the Giants and was named to 9 Pro Bowl teams including 7 straight from 1982-1988. It was the Carson's 12th year of eligibility and 7th time as a finalist for the Hall of Fame. With the yearly rejections becoming a "burden" for Carson, 52, wrote a letter to the Hall in 2004 requesting that his name be removed from consideration and has said that he would not go to Canton if voted in. He has since reconsidered. When the Hall of Fame called to notify Carson of his election, he was on a plane to Hawaii and he first found out that he was elected from a fan who congratulated him at the airport. Carson thought it was a joke.
Ending the Season on a Positive Note
The Jets can finally say that their season is mercifully over. The good news is that they ended it with a 30-26 win over the Buffalo Bills. The bad news is the win moved them to the 4th pick in the NFL Draft behind Houston, New Orleans/San Antonio/etc, and Tennessee. The Jets win was keyed by Justin Miller's 95-yard kickoff return late in the 4th quarter to take the lead. Ty Law, the lone Jets representative in the Pro Bowl, sealed the victory when he intercepted his 3rd pass of the game. Law finishes the season with a career and franchise high 10 INTs.
Pro Bowl Rosters Announced
The NFL announced the rosters for the Pro Bowl on Wednesday and six local players made it. Michael Strahan, Osi Umenyiora, Tiki Barber, Jeremy Shockey and David Tyree will represent the Giants while Ty Law will represent the Jets.
