Hey laaadies, the Sex and the City prequel is happening, according to someone who talked to the Hollywood Reporter, and The Carrie Diaries series will air on the CW. It's all happening. This means that each week we'll see a 17-year-old-ish Carrie Bradshaw in an early 1980s New York City. We have never read one page of the Candace Bushnell-penned book series this is going to be based on, but here are some things we'd like to see Carrie do while struggling as an unknown in the bad old days of Manhattan:
9 Things We'd Like To See Carrie Bradshaw Do In 1980s NYC
Who Should Be Cast In The Sex And The City Prequel Series
Rumors have been flying about Sex and the City returning to television, and about a possible Sex and the City prequel. Well hold on to your Manolos, ladies, they are one in the same. An HBO rep confirmed that, “Discussions are underway for The Carrie Diaries, Candice Bushnell’s book about Carrie Bradshaw’s high school years, to find a home as a potential television series." The book tracks Carrie's post-high school years in a 1980s New York City... can't wait to see how they portray the bad old days!
Sex And The City Director Doesn't Want A Prequel
The ladies of Sex and the City may not be getting revirginized after all. Previously Sarah Jessica Parker said she wouldn't want Carrie to go back in time for a prequel (though she would go ahead five years for a third flick). Now Michael Patrick King, who directed both of the movies, says he won't be working on a prequel, either.
Sex and the City Gals Get Revirginized
Candace Bushnell, the woman who launched a thousand well-heeled tourists on to a stoop in the Greenwich Village, is now jumping on the popular Young Adult bandwagon, having announced that she's inked a deal to write two teen novels. Get excited, they're Sex and the City prequels!
I Am (Almost) Legend
File under: should have seen it coming? Variety is reporting that Warner Bros. is gearing up to create a prequel to I Am Legend. "The studio has set D.B. Weiss to write a script that is based on a detailed outline that was hatched over the past few months by Smith," and others, and the film will show a pre-apocalyptic New York City as the final days of humanity are counted down. Since the studio wanted Smith back to reprise his role as scientist Robert Neville, a prequel was the only solution, as (spoiler alert!) his character died at the end of the first film. Get ready for another Hollywood takeover of New York's streets and bridges, and likely a slew of sold-out nights at the IMAX.
