Last week, the NYPD said that a woman approached another woman outside the the Chase Bank at Broadway and West 73rd Street, claiming she was a cop. According to cops, the suspect, described as a black female in her 30s around 5'5" and 125-130 pounds, "then removed the victim's wallet from her purse and removed the victim's Chase Bank debit card. The suspect then fled the location to parts unknown." Now the police have updated with some new information: It seems the suspect is actually a man.

Cops: Man Posing As Cop Sexually Assaulted, Robbed Woman
Police say a man impersonating a police officer sexually assaulted and then robbed a Queens woman last month. According to NBC New York, "The woman, 52, was posting flyers at about 11:30 p.m. on Nov. 20 along 41st Avenue in Flushing when she was approached by a burgundy van or SUV with four people inside. The suspect displayed a business card with a police logo and told her it was illegal to post flyers, asking for her identification, police said."
Cops Seek Police Impersonator
The police are looking for a man suspected of impersonating a police officer while robbing six pharmacies and one Banana Republic. According to the Staten Island Advance, "Bension Mamedov, 36, wore a police shield and police jacket when he removed articles from the store shelves of Duane Reade on Hylan Boulevard in Grant City and the CVS on Amboy Road in Great Kills, cops allege. He later returned the items at the cash register as if they were previously purchased, according to police. His MO was similar during the other robberies. He identified himself as an NYPD officer during the thefts, which also took place at drug stores in Manhattan and Brooklyn between October and June." Mamedov is around 6' tall and 210 pounds. Crew Impersonated Cops to Torture, Rob Drug Runners
Federal drug enforcement agents have arrested eight members of a Queens-based gang suspected of kidnapping and torturing more than 100 people. The men impersonated the police, by way of fake sirens and lights on cars and handcuffs, and managed, per the Post, to "steal $4 million in cash and cocaine with a street value of $20 million."
