"Spy Babe"'s Call To Spy Daddy Set Her Arrest In Motion
Aha: The Washington Post suggests that the arrest of ten alleged Russian spies was prompted by a phone call that A NYC party girl and social networking enthusiast made to her father, because the FBI informant posing as a Russian contact was a bit suspicious: "An anxious June 26 phone call from Russian spy Anna Chapman to her father, a KGB veteran working in Moscow's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led the Obama administration to hasten the arrests the next day of Chapman and nine other 'illegals' in the United States, according to U.S. law enforcement and intelligence sources."
Rectal Exam Prank Phone Caller Arrested
Whatever happened to "Is your refrigerator running"? A prank phone caller who convinced a woman to give herself a rectal exam was arrested and charged with second-degree aggravated harassment. The Staten Island Advance explains 49-year-old construction worker John Brady allegedly admitted he "would go through the phone book and pick random numbers and make telephone calls." Claiming to be from a doctor's office, Brady would then (allegedly) tell the person to perform a rectal exam while staying on the phone with him. One woman realized after her self-exam that the caller "did not represent a medical establishment" and the authorities tracked Brady down. The Advance says Brady, who faces up to a year in jail if convicted, has been arrested for previous harassing phone calls "but it's not clear if he's accused of pulling the same prank during those calls as well."
