LI Massacre Suspect's Wife Claims They Only Planned Robbery

The wife of the man accused of killing four people at a Long Island pharmacy before stealing over 11,000 hydrocodone pills and other drugs pleaded not guilty to robbery and governmental obstruction charges today. Melinda Brady, 29, did not make bail, which was set at $1.5 million bond or $750,000 cash; according to court papers, she discussed robbing the Haven Drugs on Saturday night, gave her husband, David Laffer, 33, one of her prescriptions to use, and drove the car on Sunday while Laffer went into the pharmacy. more ›

Police Make Arrest In Connection With Pharmacy Shootings

Police have raided a Long Island home in connection with its investigation of Sunday's horrific quadruple murder at a Medford pharmacy and apparently made an arrest. The Haven Drugs' pharmacist and pharmacy worker, as well as two customers, were killed execution-style by a man who left with prescription drugs. Manhunt For Man Who Killed Four At L.I. Pharmacy

Police are reviewing surveillance video of the man who opened fire at a Long Island pharmacy, killing four people, yesterday after 10 a.m. The victims were the 45-year-old pharmacist at Haven Drugs, two customers, ages 33 and 71, and a 17-year-old pharmacy worker who was supposed to graduate from high school this week. Four Dead In Long Island Pharmacy Shooting This Morning

At least four people were fatally shot in a pharmacy in Long Island earlier today. The shooting occurred inside Haven Drugs in Medford around 10 a.m. this morning. Authorities are still trying to piece together the details behind the quadruple homicide, but warned that the killer escaped the scene and is still at large. "This is a vicious, horrible crime. We are dedicating a great number of resources. Right now, our primary interest is apprehending the individual or individuals involved," said Suffolk County Chief of Detectives Dominick Varrone. more ›

The CVS pharmacy on 18th Street and Park Avenue is in trouble after customers found old prescription information billowing through the nearby streets. Numerous papers containing patient's names, addresses and old prescription info were not properly disposed of, and patients are angry. Shirley Okin told the Daily News, "I'm just so angry. A Bay Ridge pharmacist embroiled in a public steroid investigation appears to have killed himself. John Rossi was found last night in the office above the pharmacy, with a fatal gunshot wound to his head and a pistol in his hand. Bottles of Johnnie Walker whiskey, Valium, and Coca-Cola were on the desk in front of his body; another bullet slug was found in the office, causing a police source to tell the Daily News, "He wanted to make sure." more ›
