Folk legend Pete Seeger and '60s folk singer Arlo Guthrie joined in with Occupy Wall Street protesters last night for a march on the Upper West Side. Approximately a thousand people took part in the march down Broadway from Symphony Space to Columbus Circle, mixing popular OWS chants ("We are the 99 percent") with protests songs (including "We Shall Overcome") all along the way. The 92-year-old Seeger was accompanied by musician-grandson Tao Rodriguez Seeger, composer David Amram and bluesman Guy Davis. Below, check out several videos of Seeger, Guthrie and all the other marchers singing in the streets:

Cuomo May Review Fracking Industry After Pennsylvania Blowout
After a well blew out at a Pennsylvania gas drilling site, contaminating local waterways with thousands of gallons of drilling fluids, it seems that Governor Cuomo is a little concerned. NY1 reports that he "wants state officials to fully understand what hydrofracking is, before the controversial form of natural gas extraction is approved in New York."
Video: Pete Seeger Pipes Up About Drilling
The 91-year-old Pete Seeger has been awfully busy lately—recently we saw him get honored at Gotham Hall, and yesterday he spent some time protesting in Albany. The activist and musician was joined by actor Mark Ruffalo (video) and other opponents of hydrofracking. The group is trying to push the Senate to adopt a one year moratorium on the gas-drilling process in New York. Naturally, Seeger wrote a song for the occasion, titled, "God's Counting On Me"—listen below (and sing along! "drill baby drill turns to spill baby spill"):
Pete Seeger Gets Honored At Gotham Hall
Last night Pete Seeger, the legendary folk singer (born May 3rd, 1919 in Manhattan's French Hospital), was honored by the WhyHunger organization at their 35th anniversary dinner. The event, held at Gotham Hall, featured performances by Ashford & Simpson, Tom Chapin, and a host of others—all of whom joined the guest of honor on stage at the end of the night. The highlight of the night came when the 91-year-old smiling Seeger led the crowd in a sing-a-long of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," which brought even the grown men in the audience to tears. (Get some tissues, we're trying to get a hold of video.)
Pete Seeger Celebrates 90
Yesterday the legendary Pete Seeger celebrated 90 years on this earth with an intimate gathering of friends at Madison Square Garden. You know, just the typical birthday party with a guest list that included Arlo Guthrie, Bruce Springsteen, Dave Matthews, Emmylou Harris, Joan Baez, Kris Kristofferson, John Mellencamp, Oscar the Grouch, Tim Robbins, his son, and many many more (51 all in all). Even Barack Obama sent a greeting to the singer, praising him for voicing "the hopes and dreams of everyday people," reports the NY Times. The grand finale included “This Land Is Your Land,” a song he sang at the President's inauguration, with everyone (including his 95-year-old brother) on stage to sing along.

Tao Rodriguez-Seeger and Guy Davis, Musicians
Tao Rodriguez-Seeger is the grandson of Pete Seeger, and has been performing with the folk legend since the young age of 16. This weekend he and his grandad will be joined by Seeger's longtime friend, bluesman Guy Davis (son of Ruby Dee and Ossie Davis). You can see the trio at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden's Chile Pepper Festival...but first, get to know them a little better.
