A fund-raising party in East New York for slain NYPD officer Peter Figoski's family ended with an officer crashing his service vehicle in what appears to be a drunk driving incident. According to DNAinfo, 31-year-old Christopher Morris was on-duty when he was arrested for DUI and refusing to take a Breathalyzer test around 5 a.m. this morning. “He got pretty bombed early in the evening, when the party started," a source tells the Daily News. Morris was allegedly put on desk duty at the 75h Precinct after his colleagues realized he was so intoxicated, but the paper states he "somehow drove a marked cruiser back to the fundraiser a short time later."

A long blue line of an estimated 10,000 police officers lined up in Long Island this morning for the funeral of slain Officer Peter Figoski, who was fatally shot in the line of duty early last Monday. At the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Babylon, LI, friends, family and officials mourned the 22-year NYPD veteran and father of four. "We will forever remember the memories with our dad and our loving family," a friend of Figoski's read on behalf of his daughters. "Our father would be so honored and so proud by all of this, and is forever in our hearts. It is said when a hero falls an angel rises. Rest in peace Daddy."
Suspects In Cop Killing Indicted For Murder
Yesterday, five men were indicted for the killing of police officer Peter Figoski, who was shot in the face while responding to a Brooklyn home invasion on Monday. Last night Lamont Pride, 27, was marched into a Brooklyn court wearing the handcuffs of late Officer Peter Figoski—the 47-year-old, 22-year NYPD veteran who Pride is said to have fatally shot in the face early Monday during a home invasion in East New York. Pride, already wanted for his involvement in a shooting in North Carolina, was ordered held without bail until his next court appearance, as were his four alleged accomplices: "accused ringleader Nelson Morales, 27; Ariel Tejada, 22; accused getaway driver Michael Velez, 21, and 30-year-old ex-con Kevin Santos." This was not the first time in court for any of them.
Alleged Cop Killer Was Wanted In NC, Had Been Arrested By NYPD Twice Since September
Lamont Pride, the 27-year-old man accused of shooting 22-year NYPD veteran Peter Figoski fatally in the face yesterday, shouldn't have been in New York City. He should have been in North Carolina where he is wanted on an outstanding warrant for aggravated assault. But because of legal snafus regarding extradition he was left free in New York after the NYPD picked him up not just once but twice since September. And now Officer Figoski's four daughters don't have a father.
