Yesterday one lucky blogger got to join Chris Nadareski from the NYC DEP as he tagged four (2 male, 2 female) month old peregrine falcons from a 55 Water Street nest. This is where adult falcons Jack and Diane moved into in 1999, though presumably the offspring pictured are Jack and Jill's (Diane is in retirement at Cornell)—read their full story here. more ›

Five Baby Falcons Born At Three City Bridges

   

Time for an awwww break! Five peregrine falcon chicks were born atop the towers of MTA bridges! The MTA says that three were born at the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, while the Throgs Neck and Marine Parkway-Gil Hodges Memorial Bridges each welcomed one chick.
