So far we've found nothing funny about the month of January, hopefully things will change starting this week. Check out our comedy picks: When something is called Bar Mitzvah Disco (the Variety Show) you just have to go. The BMD is brought to you by the one and only Movable Hype 6.0 host Nick Kroll, who may or may not be going by the name of Enrique Goldfarb - Northern New Jersey's #3 name in......

The New York Times has a nice spotlight piece about Paul Ford today. We've been big fans of Paul's work at FTrain for years-- and he was nice enough to sit for one of our first interviews: The End of The World is finally happening. What are you going to do with your last 24 hours in NYC? It's going to be really hard to find beer, like during the blackout, so while everyone......

It looks like the MTA is doing what matters: The NY Post reports that the MTA is busting a Brooklyn bagelry, F Line Bagels in Carroll Gardens, for mentioning the subway in its name and in its store's decorations. Apparently an MTA lawyer went into their store to let them know that the MTA wants the Smith Street store cease-and-desist with its various subway memorabilia, not to mention the store's name, or pay the MTA......

Praise the Lord, the end has come. The convention is over, and all the rabble-rousing photobloggers have returned to their spider holes in Brooklyn and Lower Manhattan. There was some action yesterday around Union Square and MSG, and just for old times sakes, we're going to post some links. We'll add anything that comes in, so check this post a few times over the next couple of hours, days, and weeks. Thanks to all......

Deep into the gentrification along the F train in Brooklyn, the NY Post looks at how love, or at least like, blossoms underground. This comes after the announcement of how some subway cars are "singles trains" and popularity of looking at missed connections on craigslist. Gothamist has heard a few stories of people meeting on the subway, as well as read those stories in the Weddings section of the Times. The one time we were......

Gothamist Interview has hit its 100th subject. Submitting to Andrew Krucoff's Young Manhattanite Interview is none other than Tina Brown, editor, writer, and now TV personality on CNBC with all those people talking about money and stuff. She even lets everyone know how much the Topic A staff feels Henry, the Gawker Intern, who is tasked with a weekly recap of the show (check out today's recap.) Now, to work on getting Thomas Pynchon for......

For a few frenzied moments, the streets of Brooklyn turn into a war zone...of condiments. Paul Ford of FTrain.com experiences the Condiment War. He also posts pictures that show the devastation (and some disbelieving cops, Gothamist imagines). [Via kottke]......
