WABC 7 reports, "The driver was rescued after becoming pinned in the vehicle."

Father, Son Found Dead In Bronx Apartment
The bodies of a father and his son were discovered in an apartment in the Parkchester section of the Bronx last night. Emergency personnel responded to a 911 call about an unconscious person in the Beach Avenue apartment and found Joseph Valerio Sr., 85, and Joseph Valerio Jr., 46.
10-Year-Old And Dad Shot In South Bronx Leads To Police Shoot-Out
A father and his ten-year-old son were fired upon by three men in the South Bronx early this morning, which led to a chase and eventually a police shoot-out. The father and ten-year-old were sitting in a Dodge Durango in front of Saint Peter's Church in Parkchester around 3:15 a.m. when one of the men opened fire. The ten-year-old was grazed by a bullet, while the dad was hit in the finger.
Bronx Man Arrested After Holding His Baby Hostage With Knife
A Bronx man was arrested yesterday after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend and then held a knife to his baby's neck. Russel Rivera Jr. was in a heated stand-off with police around 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday: "He had the baby in his arms and a big knife, a butcher's knife. The baby was crying. It was pouring. The baby had no clothes on, just Pampers," witness Edna Rivera told the News.
Bronx Man Killed By City Bus Making Turn
A 76-year-old man crossing a Bronx street was fatally struck by a NYC Transit bus making a turn at 6:55 p.m. last night. Edmundo Cortes, a father of 10 and grandfather of 20, was headed to the grocery store when crossed Castle Hill Avenue in the Parkchester section. The bus driver apparently didn't realize he hit anyone as he was making a right turn, because he continued driving until a witness ran after him and stopped him. Cortes' body was crushed under the wheels, and another witness told the Daily News, "It was a gruesome sight."
Parkchester Residents Fear Rise in Hate Crimes
The Bengali community in Parkchester, Bronx are worried they're being targeted in hate crimes, with many reporting being robbed or attacked in the past few months. It's gotten so bad that local Moussa Drammeh called a meeting to express concerns to the NYPD and the Bronx DA's office, who informed residents that they had to come forward when the attacks happened. Business owner Zakir Khan told NY1, "That they'll say I'm ashamed or that whoever is attacking us they will come after us again." Officials say more investigation is needed to determine whether the attacks can be classified as hate crimes, just as they did in the recent Staten Island attacks.
Cop Car Tires Slashed Near Heavily-Ticketed Shopping Center
This shaky surveillance video shows an unidentified man brazenly slashing the tires of three NYPD Parking Enforcement cars in broad daylight on Monday in Parkchester. (It was either very windy out, or the surveillance cam was afraid it would be slashed next, because it can't stop trembling!) The cars were parked outside a Bronx parking enforcement headquarters near the Westchester Square shopping district, were merchants say parking ticket blitzes are driving away their shoppers.
Over 100 Fireifghters Battle 4-Alarm Bronx Fire
Around 1:20 a.m. this morning, a fire broke out in a Parkchester apartment building. One resident told WCBS 2, "There was a gentleman running down the street yelling fire and [telling] everybody to get out. I heard the blast - the windows when they blew out. I was already in bed." Two teens and one boy, all of whom had been sleeping, were rescued from the apartment where the fire originated and were taken to the hospital for their minor injuries. The FDNY says they came close to "losing the whole" 6-floor building.
