It's a big outdoor weekend, so good thing there are 51 outdoor pools opening up for the season around the city today (here's a "best of" list). If you prefer to stay dry, here are some options... THEATER: You’ve got just three more weekends to experience one of the wildest and most entertaining late-night theater extravaganzas to hit New York this century. The Curse of the Mystic Renaldo The defies description – what begins as a fake silent movie (ostensibly unearthed during the construction of 3 Legged Dog’s sleek new theater center) quickly dashes off in countless delirious directions at once: There’s live rock, hilarious vaudevillian slapstick, both high and low art,......

Mets 6 Cardinals 1: Yes, baseball followed all the other sports and sold out for the highest dollar, ruining the best tradition in sports, Opening Day, but at least they put a New York team into “Opening Night” this year. It doesn’t make up for the NLCS, but the Mets got 2007 off to a great start, pummeling Chris Carpenter and getting a great start from Tom Glavine. Paul LoDuca had 3 RBI’s and......

Not every game was going to be as easy as Opening Night for the Yankees. Tuesday's 4-3 loss in Oaklandhelped prove that. Mike Mussina gave up two solo home runs, and the Yankees couldn't muster enough offense of Oakland's Rich Harden and the Oakland bullpen. Marco Scutaro, an ex-Met, knocked in the game winning run off Scott Proctor in the ninth. The season is only two games old, but Gothamist has some concerns. Mussina, always......

Still, there's plenty to see such as the adaptation of Myla Goldberg's novel Bee Season; Kiera Knightly taking on Jane Austen in Pride and Prejudice; and although we might not otherwise be too excited for Zathura, our interest is......

For Yankee fans, Opening Night 2005 could not have come soon enough. A brutal winter, the anticipation of seeing Randy Johnson in pinstripes and the disappointment left over from last year’s collapse, have created an urgency among the fans to see their team play ball. This year’s edition of the Yankees should be an improvement over last year’s, especially when you consider the starting pitching. Javier Vazquez, Jon Lieber and Jose Contreras, all starters......

It took a while, but Randy Johnson looks like he's ready to start the season. In his final Spring Training start, Johnson pitched six scoreless innings on Thursday. He allowed one hit, one walk and picked up eight strikeouts against the regulars for the Atlanta Braves. While Johnson would normally have started next Tuesday's pre-season game against the Red Sox, he will throw against Yankee farmhands instead. Johnson is scheduled to pitch in the Opening......
