Getting the Point

Getting the Point

Let’s not get too excited by the fact that Larry Brown won his 1.000th game last night. Sure it is a nice achievement for him, but the other coaches who have reached it, Lenny Wilkens, Don Nelson and Pat Riley, all coached the Knicks and never won a championship. So we're off the hook, right? We'll pin everything on the Nets, who played an ugly, ugly game, losing to the Pistons, 78-56 (box score), halting their 14 game playoff win streak within the conference. The Nets were stifled by the praise-worthy Pistons defense, who stopped almost everything the Nets attempted. more ›
