The Onion AV Club has a sweet video segment for fans of Wes Anderson's third feature The Royal Tenebaums. Shot on location in NYC and released just months after the 9/11 attacks, the detached family comedy at first seemed a little too twee and fussy for that particular historical moment. But over time, we've fallen hard for the Royal T's subtle humor and nuanced ensemble performances—and while you may not catch it at first glance, to quote Paul Rudd, there's a lot of pain behind those eyes (it's just delicately understated). Anyway, that gorgeous house! It's still there, tucked away on a residential block in Harlem, and the AV Club recently dropped by with one of the location scouts to talk about how they found it and Anderson's vision:

Spotted: Rabbit-Loving James Franco In Carroll Gardens
Need a little sunshine to brighten up your gloomy, gray Monday? Head over to the Brooklyn Farmacy (on Henry Street in Carroll Gardens) and get that sunshine in the form of Mr. James Franco. He's there filming scenes for his upcoming film, Maladies—you can see more photos here. If you have no problems getting your celeb stalk on, you are probably crazy enough that Franco's turn-ons won't turn you off—the actor recently told James Lipton, "Sometimes rabbits, like, turn me on. I don't know why."
Good Looking Actors Infiltrate Brooklyn
Sometimes slow news days are good when they allow for photos of two of the sexiest men alive. That's right! Javier Bardem and James Franco are both in town filming scenes for Eat, Pray, Love. Check out more images of Mr. Bardem on Smith Street here. According to this Twitter update, they'll both be filming scenes today (and tonight?) at Robin Des Bois restaurant in Brooklyn, along with Billy Crudup and Julia Roberts.
"Get on Tapas" Fooled Brooklyn Locals
In May, Serious Eats alerted to the closing of a pet food store on Prospect Park West in Brooklyn, as the storefront was stripped down to its original "beautiful stained glass sign from an old, possibly 1930s-era sweets shop." Soon enough a tapas restaurant popped up, called Get on Tapas (get it?), and locals were checking out the menu for the new neighborhood spot...only to discover they were fooled by Hollywood.
Brooklyn's Finest Films in Brooklyn
It turns out ex-transit worker Michael Martin's movie was filming in Brooklyn yesterday. Photos of Ethan Hawke, Lily Taylor and a NY Post prop were taken on location. The movie, Brooklyn's Finest, is described as a drama involving the three intertwining story lines of Brooklyn cops.
The Taking of DUMBO
Following an announcement last September of the film getting the remake treatment, The Taking of Pelham 123 started scouting NYC nooks and crannies to film in. Now shooting has commenced, and today Denzel Washington & Co. can be found in DUMBO. Unless, of course, this is a set for The Talking of Telham 123, as the sign suggests -- in which case, don't expect to spot John Travolta in the 'nabe.
