A 31-year-old man was charged with public lewdness and harassment after showing off his unwrapped package to a woman on a subway. According to the Post, "Champ Osmond, 31, boarded a near-empty southbound 3 train at 7 a.m. Thursday and took a seat opposite a 28-year-old woman, sources said. Osmond unzipped his pants and exposed himself, the sources said. He then stood, grabbed himself and approached the woman, cops said." The woman found cops at the Nevins Street stop, and Osmond allegedly told them, "She was looking at my s---," Osmond allegedly told police."

An Unexpected Visit to Brooklyn Central Booking
We've heard a lot about how ignoring tickets can lead to a less-than-ideal stay in a city cell, and the Gowanus Lounge has a story on one Brooklyn woman's recent encounter with "the system". A summons for not walking her dog with a leash and a "free" subway ride were her two violations that collided in a perfect storm, landing her at the Brooklyn Central Booking for 24+ hours. Her main gripe was with the conditions of the place (located on Schermerhorn Street between Smith and Boerum Place):
I was going to see a student in Manhattan. I went to the Nevins Street 4/5 station. The Metrocard machine did not take my ATM card and was not accepting bills! No one was in the booth...I decided to pass through turnstile. I heard someone on the platform below, a cop was there with the token booth worker! I wondered if this was a ticket quota trap.more ›

Sticky Commute Gets Worse for Those on West Side
As if the insane heat and humidity isn't enough, there are signal problems at Times Square that are affecting the 1, 2 and 3 lines. The 1 has been suspended between 137th Street and South Ferry and the 2 is running on the 5 line between 149th Street/Grand Concourse in The Bronx and Nevins Street in Brooklyn. The 3 is in even worse shape as it's not running at all. Gothamist is getting reports that the buses along the West Side are already packed as it doesn't seem like people want to walk to work in this weather.
Subway Blues on the 2/3
Friday's track fire on the third rail of the 2/3 line - a fire that snarled traffic for half a million New Yorkers - led to diversions Friday and the rest of the weekend. The MTA claims that the 2/3 will be normal today. But if it's not, here's NY1's explanation of how your commute is shot:
