No dead animals spotted in Prospect Park today (but the day is young!), however, a reader just sent over this photo taken nearby, at 7:30 a.m., of many, many needles spattered about the sidewalk on 17th and Prospect Park West (we're told "that corner is frequently used for drug deals with very little police presence," and there's a "very active, yet quiet of late, crack house 3 doors down from the spot where the photo was taken"). The NYPD and Sanitation Department are on top of it, but, as of an hour ago, were still looking for stray needles. They don't exactly look clean, and we're told some were dirty and had the caps off; after a toddler was just pricked with a needle containing the HIV virus... well, better keep your kids in the Bugaboo if you're in the area today.

Needle Alert: Panic In Sandbox Park!
Don't you hate it when you're building a kick-ass sand castle in your favorite sandbox, and you're digging with your plastic blue shovel, and the sun is beating down on your skin, and your overalls are getting all dirty, and you have to avoid the used needle sticking out of the ground? We do. So do families in Great Kills, Staten Island, where a mother found such an item sticking up in a sandbox at the newly opened Seaside Wildlife Nature Park where her child was playing.
It's Time To Save Courtney Love
She's going to be a resident of NYC soon, after all. Okay, so at the end of June there was a blind item that screamed C. Lo, it read: "Although she claims to be clean, when she checked out of a Manhattan hotel recently, the maid found the room littered with dirty needles." Now the NY Post confirms it, reporting that it took Courtney Love no time at all to trash her posh room at The Inn on Irving Place.
