According to the NY Post, Andrew Koppel, the 40-year-old son of TV broadcast journalist Ted Koppel, "was found dead in a Washington Heights apartment under mysterious circumstances yesterday morning after a daylong drinking binge with a man he had just met in a Midtown bar, law-enforcement sources said." The paramedics were called when the man and his friend found Koppel, an attorney for the city's Housing Authority, "had urinated and defecated in the bed and appeared not to be breathing."

Bicyclist Ruled Out As Suspect In Bronxville Teen's Death
Bronxville police questioned a bicyclist about the death of a 15-year-old teen whose body was found on a street last week. Mihoko Fukuzawa died of internal bleeding, but since it's unclear whether she slipped or was the victim of foul play, police sought a bicyclist seen on surveillance footage. The Journal News reports that the bicyclist, an Albanian, did see the girl's body but didn't stop because of his limited English. He also reportedly said he saw another person already asking the girl if she was okay. The police chief said, "We do not believe he had any contact with her or that she was startled by the bicyclist. Something else caused her to fall."
Mysterious Park Avenue Hotel Death
Yesterday, it was reported a Long Island woman had died after being found unconscious in a $700/night room at the Kitano Hotel early Saturday morning. A man and a woman were reportedly questioned and now the Post reports they, plus the deceased, had gathered for a threesome at the Park Avenue hotel. Sources say Kimberly Calo, 41-year-old divorcee and mom of two, had been "shaking and frothing." The other woman, Nicole Zobkiw, wanted to call 911 but Thomas Hoey said he'd call a "doctor friend," who told them Calo was "f---ing dead." Hoey, described as a "Long Island banana mogul ...married suburban dad and pillar of his community by day, but kinky party animal after dark," told the Post, "You've got the wrong guy." The ME's office is doing an autopsy, but apparently cops found drugs in Calo's purse.
Mother and Son Found Dead in Staten Island Apartment
A 63-year-old woman and her 34-year-old son were found dead in their Silver Lake home Tuesday morning. The Staten Island Advance reports that Doris Newsome and son Martin both had health issues and needed to use oxygen tanks. The pair seemed to die of natural causes at around the same time, but it's not clear what the exact cause was (the ME's report will take a while), so their simultaneous deaths seem mysterious and bizarre....
