Last chance for Brokeback jokes and the Pita's Music Picks: Unlike Ennis, we know how to quit you. Next time it'll be someone else's picks. See you in the clubs![Ed. Note - This is Catherine's last week on the music roundup-- thanks, Catherine!]

For even more to do this weekend, check out Coolfer's Music Picks.

- Gothamist Interview serves up some sexy interviewee this week, like Tristan Taormino

Our good friends, the band Tiger Mountain, are playing at Tis Was, which is at Don Hill's, this Saturday night, 9:30PM. Some of their press has compared their sound as being like the Kinks, Yardbirds, The Replacements, The Flamin’ Groovies, pre-sucking Soul Asylum, and the Stones. Gothamist would simply say that Tiger Mountain brings it and rocks out. You can listen to some of their songs here. And another Tiger Mountain Gothamist loves: Tiger Mountain at the Bronx Zoo!
For other bands to check out this weekend, check out Coolfer's Music Picks. And there's a great new Gothamist Arts & Events feature, Sets and the City, where our team of music lovers profiles and interviews some of the city's band. The first interview is with Madison Strays.

Check out the rest of Gothamist Arts & Events and get upset that your free time is so limited (if only we could make ourselves sleepwalk to events). And you can read all of Gothamist very easily via our digest-form.

Some indoors stuff to do: Coolfer's Music Picks, read Gothamist Weather to understand why it's raining, see a movie, try out a new recipe, or flip through Clinton's My Life at a local bookstore - that'll take up a couple hours..

The Summer Solstice, according to infoplease, is the longest day and shortest night of the year; it occurs on Sunday, June 20. There are some free Summer Solstice Events in Times Square on Sunday - Gothamist will post more about them this weekend, so keep your calendars open. More pictures of St. John the Divine at Bluejake.

[Ed: Yet another edition of Coolfer's Music Picks...definitely check out the wealth of shows and legal MP3's he recommends.]

Check out Coolfer's Music Picks for this weekend. And Gothamist's favorite Nick Hornby book is High Fidelity, though Songbook is a nice lazy afternoon book to peruse; the film, About a Boy, is our favorite adaptation.
