Wedding Dance Turns Violent, Woman Sues Hyatt for $1 Million

A Manhattan resident has filed a lawsuit against a New Jersey man who she says injured her while dancing at a wedding at the Hyatt Morristown in November 2008. Hedge fund worker Christine Mancision ended up at the Morristown Memorial Hospital after the reception went sideways; she tells the Post she was minding her own business on the dance floor when "all of a sudden, I turn and I'm grabbed by this really tall individual. I had no idea who he was. And he grabbed my arm and spun me around to dance with me and then just flung me off to the side of the dance floor, and I went flying to the floor. When I sat up, I was in a lot of pain. I looked at my arm, and it was bent the completely opposite way."

Jets Player's Annoyed Neighbor Chases, Threatens Paparazzi

After news that a woman claimed she was raped in the Morristown, NJ home of Jets safety Kerry Rhodes, the press—namely the tabloids—is staked out by Rhodes' fancy condominium. Rhodes is not suspected in the rape, but the media invasion was too much for Rhodes' neighbors. According to the Daily Record, when Rhodes drove away from his home, "The photographers sprang to action, snapping photos of Rhodes, who wore a baseball cap slung low as he sped down MacCulloch toward Route 202. A neighbor, however, was incensed by their actions and chased photographers down MacCulloch, screaming expletives and threats." The police eventually arrived and asked photographers from the NY Post and Daily News "to keep their distance," noting that the Morristown police "[doesn't] have the resources to keep a car out here." The police are investigating whether a friend of Rhodes is involved.

NJ Residents Spot UFO (Or Just Road Flares) Overhead

Some NJ residents spotted an odd formation of flashing red lights on Monday night (perhaps New Yorkers were smelling maple syrup) and wondered if we are not alone. Here's an excerpt of a MUFON report (via a YouTube video):

As an amateur astronomer of nearly 20 years experience, this is the second time I have seen something in the sky that is difficult to explain. I was on my apartment stoop smoking a cigarette when my neighbor, who was just coming home after parking his car in our complexs lot, called my attention to something around the corner of the building.

Like a scene out of Never Been Kissed, three teenagers in New Jersey were arrested for setting a classmate up on a date only to have him humiliated and attacked. A 16-year-old girl in Morristown agreed to go on the date last week with a classmate who had been wooing her unsuccessfully for quite some time. But when the two arrived in the garage of the movie theaters at Headquarters Plaza, she stepped away so that her two male friends could jump him inside his car. When the victim ran for help, the two attackers drove off with his car. The boys have been charged with assault and carjacking, while the girl was booked for conspiracy to commit assault and permanently eradicating her admirer's self-confidence.
