If you've lived in New York for any period of time, you know that the food here is incredible -- the variety, the quantity, and the quality. You'll also know that you don't have to pawn off your valuables to taste all that the city has to offer. This week's New York Magazine celebrates the city's cheap eats. Rob and Robin provide an extensive list of their picks, including some of our favorites: Bocca Lupo, Flatbush Farm, Go!Go! Curry, Momofuku Ssäm Bar, and Peri Ela (just tried it for the first time last weekend), among many others.

Grab a few friends and head over to Momofuku Ssäm Bar for the Bo Ssäm ($180) a huge hunk of pork butt, cooked to falling-off-the-bone perfection, and served with a dozen oysters, kimchi, rice, a variety of sauces (including an addictive ginger-based sauce), and bibb lettuce for wrapping. You'll have to call in advance for reservations, and depending on the size of your group, you'll have room for other dishes as well. Our group of seven polished off some two orders each of the famed pork buns, the hamachi, and two three-terrine sandwiches, as well as the wax bean salad, an order of fried artichokes, some soft-shell crabs, and some ribs that were sent over by the kind folks at the next table (including Mario Batali and John Hodgman), all before the bo ssäm arrived at the table. No, we didn't finish it all, but we were pretty excited about digging into the leftovers the next day.

- Augieland has a food pornrific post on the late night scene at Momofuku Ssäm Bar. Please note the disclaimer in the second paragraph – it was his birthday and he had been well served.

This week in the Times, Julia Moskin fills in for a vacationing Bruni, one-stars Francois Payard's In Tent. "In too many cases, I could see where the chef was going, but the food hadn't arrived there yet," she says. But the desserts she liked, no surprise.

- Ed Levine not only gives us his top ten fancypants burgers, but also his choices for fried chicken. We're hoping he goes for salad next; our cholesterol is going through the roof.
